Planning for College

I finished my college education in the winter of 2009 with respectable grades and a considerable amount of ambition in life.  On the other hand, the conclusion of my high school career wasn’t nearly as… shall we say… polished.  In fact, the period of time between ending high school and starting college was a dizzying blur.  I knew I wanted to further my education but that was pretty much the extent of any semblance of a plan I had.  “What exactly do I want to study?  Where do I want to study it?  How am I going to pay for this?”  This was definitely a daunting, if not terrifying, time in my life.  The path to college for my friends seemed so direct and simple, their confidence firm and intimidating.  But there has to be others like me, right?  Someone else who needs a gentle nudge in the right direction?

Of course there were others like me, and of course there still are students that need guidance in planning for college.  If you’re one of those students and in the St. Louis area, I would look into attending the College Planning Seminar on Tuesday, April 21.  Topics discussed will include:

- Scholarships and grants

- The FAFSA process

- Federal and private student loans
